It was agreed with "New Life" radio station to go on air every Saturday night from 5pm to 6pm. Later this time was extended to 7 pm. We express our sincere appreciation to "New Life" radio station for giving Generation Next such an opportunity. In the beginning it was planned to do a mini radio- station for hip young adults within the existing station. The created segments were unique and very entertaining.
In the course of development, Generation Next experienced a few changes. Most of them included the disagreements within the group members concerning the fate of the program. The first split occurred in January 2004 when all DJs left the show except DJ Shtoorman (Fedor). The main arguement was Fedor's strong wish to make the show more unique in nature with certain elements of copyright belonging to Generation Next. For some time Fedor was all by himself, but it didn't last too long and soon he was joined by two DJs: Dr. Fill and Julia Pastyreva. We should also mention Elena Kazakova and Maya Anderson who worked on the project during that time and helped during the difficult times. This Generation Next team worked together for a while until Dr. Fill had to leave due to the family circumstances. They say, last he was seen in South Korea, but no one knows what exactly he was doing there. But, as they say "nature abhors a vacuum" and soon his place was taken by the young and energetic Ksenia Kidanova. With some time, two more DJs joined the team: Mariya Kharpatin- the new BIKER OF CHICAGO and Olga Khazin. With this quintet Generation Next is working now. Almost the same as it was from the very beginning, but much better in achieving the main goal in being unique and entertaining. A year has passed from the date of the first show and we can proudly say that Generation Next audience is almost all of the Chicago-land area and it is constantly growing. Starting March 1st, 2005 we broadcast on four states: Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana. With the help of the internet we have listeners in many other countries, such as Russia, Israel, Belarus, Ukraine, France and many others. Our target audience remains mostly Russian- speaking, but by making our web site bi-lingual, we are hoping to gain English- speaking audience as well.
Generation Next is not only a weekly radio show. With the help of Generation Next, Chicago had a wonderful opportunity to see an independent movie festival RED SHIFT FESTIVAL in March of 2004.
We would like to thank everybody who helped us in the past and those who beleive in us and remain by our side. With your help Generation Next will grow and will be able to achive our main goal which is developing our own radio station.
